Thank you so much for considering our efforts! I apologize for the delayed response—it took me a couple of days to reply as I do not check this email address daily. My name is David Damron, and I am the founder of the Fox Glen Park Trail Fund. This initiative has been brought to life with the help of an incredible committee of neighborhood volunteers. Together, we’ve been working closely with the city, the Richland County Foundation, RCDG, and Betty Wells Preston for fundraising guidance.

Our fundraising efforts have centered around two key questions: 1. What happens if we raise more money than needed? 2. What if we fall short of our $60,000 goal?

In the first scenario, any extra funds will be held by the city and exclusively designated for the maintenance of the Fox Glen Trail. These funds would cover repairs, sealing, and culvert work over the course of several years, ensuring the trail remains in excellent condition for the community.

In the event we do not reach our $60,000 goal, there are still options. If we come up slightly short, I’m confident that either the Richland County Foundation or the Milliron Foundation will step in to help us cross the finish line. Both organizations have indicated they are willing to support us if the community demonstrates strong backing for the project. Should additional support not materialize, the funds raised will still be held by the city for the exclusive use of the Fox Glen Trail, and we will continue our fundraising efforts into the next year.

I genuinely believe that we will hit our goal. As of now, we have already received pledges totaling approximately $18,000. This includes $6,000 from Mechanics, $3,000 from Park National, $1,000 from Modern Woodmen, and a number of contributions from individuals and other organizations. The community’s enthusiasm has been incredibly encouraging.
